Description

Winchester, Model 1873, 3rd Model, 38 WCF Cal., MFG. 1884 (Antique), SN: 162428, Lever Action Rifle, 24 1/4'' Octagon Barrel, Full mag. This rifle comes off a Wyoming ranch where it spent its life working the ranch. It carries all the authentic wear & character you'd expect from an old western life. The original wood stock & forend are good & solid. The original finish is very worn & has darkened with age & use. There are numerous small contusions, scrapes & scratches, along with some edge chipping or nicks & a few larger gouges. The metal is a mix of gun metal gray & a spotty brown patina. Bore is good, with areas of pitting & roughness amongst thinned rifling. Barrel carries an adjustable rear sight & pinched blade front sight. Sliding dustcover functions properly & lever hangs tight as it should. Crescent metal buttplate with sliding trapdoor. A solid antique 1873 in .38 cal., with the correct ''old west'' aesthetic. Antique No FFL Req. - Value: 1200 to 2500
