Description

Winchester, Model 1886, 45-90 W.C.F., MFG. 1896, SN: 108818, Lever Action Rifle, SPECIAL ORDER length 30'' Octagon barrel, Full mag. The original straight grip stocks are excellent, retaining the majority of the original finish, with a number of small contusions or scrapes. The original metal blue finish on the barrel rates 85%, with loss due to thinning wear at the edges of flat toning to a brown patina. The mag shows a mix of 30% blue, with the rest a thinning brown patina. The case-hardened receiver, lever & hammer have all faded to a gun metal gray, with a thin & spotty brown patina. The sliding bolt retains a full 90% of its original bright blue. The barrel is fitted with an adjustable rear sight & pinched blade front sight. Bore is very good. Stock carries a crescent metal buttplate. Comes with a Cody Winchester Factory Records Letter, which confirms special order configuration & production dates. An excellent original example of a special order & collectible 1886. Antique No FFL Req.. - Value: 4000 to 6000
