FANTASTIC & RARE Winchester, Model 1892 TAKE-DOWN, CAL: 25-20 W.C.F., MFG: 1908, SN: 456724, Lever Action Rifle, 24'' Octagon Barrel, Full Mag. The special order factory capped pistol grip wood stocks are excellent. Capped pistol grip stocks are rare, but even rarer is for them to be ordered smooth, without factory checkering, making this take-down example among a very small percentage of production. The stocks display small scrapes, scratches & contusions carry excellent original finish. The original metal blue finish on the barrel & mag rates 90%, 40% on the receiver, with loss due to areas of flaking on sides & carry wear on the belly. There are a few small areas of rust pitting on both the barrel & on the left side of the receiver. Bore is excellent. The rifle is fitted with upgraded special order sights, with a Lyman flip-down aperture tang sight, while the barrel holds the original adjustable rear sight & flip-up front globe front sight. Buttstock carries the original Winchester plastic buttplate. This is a very sharp looking, unusual, rare & all original special order rifle, which is highly collectible.
