Description

RARE Winchester, Model 1894 16'' TRAPPER SADDLE RING CARBINE, CAL: 25-35 WCF, MFG: 1910, SN: 466948, Lever Action Carbine, 16'' Round barrel, Full mag. The smooth walnut straight grip wood stock & forend are very good & solid. The stocks may have been lightly sanded with added finish, but they still retain all the expected scattering of small contusions, scrapes & scratches typical of the use most of these trappers received. There is a short 1/2'' grain crack at the tip of the forend, along with some edge chipping. The overall fit & finish of the wood remains very very good & authentic. The metal blue finish on the barrel & mag has mostly worn gun metal gray, with remains of original blue in more protected areas. The receiver has also worn to a mix of gun metal gray, with a thin layer of brown patina & spots of original blue again in the most protected areas. The loading gate retains much of the original blue. Bore is very good & way above average for these trappers. The barrel is fitted with rear carbine flip up ladder sight, with the right ear of the sight missing, & a carbine box & blade front sight. Buttstock carries a smooth carbine metal buttplate. All markings remain intact & strong. The action is tight & smooth, appearing to function well mechanically. An excellent example & very collectible as a rare 16'' SRC trapper. FFL or C&R Req. - Value: 6000 to 8500
