Description

Marlin, Model 36 A-DL barrel stamping, CAL: 30-30, MFG: 1948, SN: E720, Lever Action Rifle, 24'' barrel, 2/3rd mag. Final year of the model 36, before going to the model 336. The original pistol grip wood stocks are good & solid, but the stock has been re-contoured. There are three wood dowels in the stock that run through from side to side, that likely add stability to a 5'' repaired crack that emanates from the upper tang & runs up onto the upper comb. There is also a tight 6'' stress crack that emanates from the lower tang & runs through the bottom of the scalloped pistol grip & along the left side of the belly of stock. The # ''1920'' is lightly scratched into the bottom of pistol grip The stock was then sanded & refinished. The forearm has some added finish over the original & displays flaking, scrapes & dings. The original metal blue finish rates 80% overall. Bore is excellent. Fitted with a Williams receiver sight, lead filled rear dovetail & ramp elevated front sight. Stock carries a ventilated recoil pad. Marlin trademark Bullseye in belly of stock. A great lever action 30-30 hunting rifle. FFL or C&R Req. - Value: 400 to 800
