Description

Remington Model 788, CAL: .223 REM, MFG: 1978, SN: B6090710, Bolt Action Rifle, 24'' barrel. The flat pistol grip wood stock is excellent, as lightly sanded & very nicely refinished. There are almost no remains of use marks on the stock. The metal blue refinish rates 90% on the barrel, 85% on the receiver, with speckling loss on the receiver. The refinish on the floorplate & trigger guard rates 95%. The bore is excellent. The receiver holds a Bushnell Sportview 3x9 scope, while the original sights have been removed & the original holes for the rear sight are screw filled. Sling studs. The respray black finish on the scope mount & rings has edge wear & spotty loss. Stock carries a Remington buttplate, with a small gouge in the body of plate. The original detachable mag has a respray black finish over some pitting, which is showing wear loss. A unique vintage hunting rifle. FFL Req. - Value: 300 to 500
