Description

Sporterized Rifle, Built from a Tokyo Arsenal Type 38, CAL: 6.5x257mm, MFG: 1900-20, SN: 1386005, Bolt Action Rifle, 18 1/2'' Round barrel. The original stock has been altered with a number of inlaid & grafted wood sections & recontoured into a sporterized, checkered & capped pistol grip Mannlicher style stock. It was sanded & refinished & is very good, with few light handling or use marks. The metal surfaces were buffed, polished & reblued, retaining 85% reblued finish. The barrel appears original, having been cut down & carrying a replaced ramped tall blade front sight, while the receiver carries an adjustable Williams right side mounted sight. The receiver & barrel was polished, removing most of the original military markings & was refinished with what is currently a high polish plum/brown finish. The original trigger guard & floorplate have been polished silver. Bore is good & cleaned bright, but does have spots of roughness amongst thinned rifling. Stock carries a Red Head ventilated recoil pad. Silver polished bolt handle. FFL or C&R Req. - Value: 250 to 500
