Description

Winchester, Model 74, Marked .22 LONG RIFLE, MFG. 1940, SN: 48666, Semi-Auto Rifle, 24'' Tapered round barrel, The original American straight grain walnut & pistol grip stock is good & solid. The forend has been modified by carving away wood to give it more of a schnabel end. The stock has been sanded & refinished, with several minor scrapes & contusions remaining. The metal finish has worn mostly gray, with a thin brown patina. Bore is very good. Fitted with an adjustable rear sight & small blade front sight. The unusual receiver mounted safety functions by sliding it side to side within a dovetail channel. Mounted with sling swivels & a cartridge holding leather sling. FFL or C&R Req - Value: 150 to 300
