Description

RARE Winchester, Model 62 ''5'' SPOT Gallery Gun, .22 SHORT Only Cal., MFG: 1936, SN: 33868A, Pump Action Rifle, 23'' round tapered barrel. The original wood stocks are very good & solid, with the original finish thinning at wrist & forearm & some light scratches & contusions. The left side of the stock has 2 1/4'' circle brand with ''5'' SPOT on the inside. As the brand indicates, this rifle was used in the ''5'' SPOT shooting gallery in Michigan during the 1930's-50's. The original metal blue finish on barrel & mag rates 50%, with the blue toning a gray/brown patina as it thins. The finish on the receiver has worn & thinned to a brown patina, with some remnants of blue in protected areas. Bore is excellent. Factory sights. Original Winchester plastic buttplate. Standard small cartridge shaped loading port. Nice original appearance on this short only gallery rifle. FFL or C&R Req. - Value: 1000 to 2500
