J. Stevens A&T Co., Model: Stevens Maynard Jr. No. 15, Cal: .22 LR, MFG: 1906-12, S/N: None, lever action single shot, 18'' octagon to round barrel. 1 turn in 16'' r.h. twist. The model was made from 1900 -12. When production began, the stocks were made from a flat board, which was later changed in 1906 to an oval style like on this example. Most rifle of this model were chambered in short & long, with rarer examples being marked ''LONG RIFLE''. The straight wrist wood stock & forend are very good, with various dings, scrapes, & scratches from use/age. The barrel retains about 50% bluing, with most of the worn areas located on the back portion of the barrel. The receiver is worn to a gun metal gray & toning to a thin brown patina. The receiver has worn to gun metal gray, with a brown patina. The top of the barrel is marked ''J. STEVENS A&T. CO.'', ''CHICOPEE FALLS, MASS. U.S.A.'', ''STEVENS-MAYNARD JR.'', ''22-LONG RIFLE''. The bore is fair, with roughness & pitting amongst visible rifling. The barrel holds a blade front sight & a V-notch fixed rear sight. The stock carries a smooth steel buttplate.
