Description

C.J Hamilton & Sons Model 35 Military, 22 CAL, MFG:1915-1918, SN: NONE, Single Shot Tip-Up Rifle, 15 3/4'' round barrel. 31'' overall length. Similar action to the model 31, except the 35 has a longer heavier frame. This model is often called the ''Boy's Military'' rifle because it was fitted with an extra long forend stock with barrel band, sling swivels, leather sling, & a stamped out steel bayonet. The bayonet is seldom found on examples today. The original straight grip wood stocks are excellent & solid, with a few very minor contusions or surface marks. The original metal blue finish rates 85% on barrel, 70% on receiver, speckled & spotty lose. Steel rolled barrel, with original brass liner. The 12 groove bore with 1 turn in 16'', r.h. twist, is very good. Thumb lever locking mechanism located right of hammer. Comes with original swivels carrying a leather sling. Stock carries the original thin metal buttplate. Factory front blade & open plate stamped rear sights. In the 3.5 yrs they were sold, sales were considered disappointing & only 11,890 were appx. made. This is a rare example, in surprisingly high condition. FFL or C&R Req. - Value: 300 to 600
