Description

J.P. Clabrough & Bros, Hammer Double, CAL: 10GA, MFG: 1875-83, SN: 18418, Break Action SxS Shotgun, 32'' Laminated Steel barrels. The checkered round knob wood stock & forend are very good & solid. The stocks have contusions, dings, scratches, scrapes, smoothed checkering & the forend is missing the inlaid tip. The receiver, side plates, trigger guard, hammers, break lever, barrel ends & forend break lever are all tastefully hand engraved with intricate ornamental scroll work. Both side plates have small bird scenes. The laminated steel pattern on the barrels is excellent, fully toned to a chocolate brown patina. The case-hardened frame & side plates have fully worn to metal gray & toned to a brown patina. Bores are fair, with roughness & intermittent pitting throughout. The solid rib holds a single front bead. Stock carries a worn checkered buttplate. The right hammer is replaced. Small amount of play between the barrel & receiver. Antique, No FFL Req. - Value: 800 to 1400
