Description

CASED, Chapuis Armes (France), Orvis Classic, CAL; 28GA, MFG: Modern, SN: 65613-FR21, Break Action SxS Shotgun, Choke: IC/CYL, 28'' barrels. The solid rib is marked ''ORVIS CLASSIC BY CHAPUIS ARMES''. Both sides of the receiver are marked ''ORVIS'' in a banner & the bottom of the receiver has a gold tone ''1856'' (the date Orvis was founded). The bottom of the forend is marked ''CHAPUIS-ARMES JUXTAPOSE PROGRESS''. The AAA Grade Walnut checkered round knob stocks are excellent, near mint. The hand applied oil finish is excellent. The metal blue finish on the barrels rates 99%+ & the Old English coin silver finish on the receiver is excellent. The receiver, trigger guard, break lever, barrel end & forend release lever all display intricate laser engraved floral scroll. Bores are excellent. The solid rib holds a single front bead. Stock carries a checkered wood buttplate. Double trigger. LOP: 14'' to front trigger, DAH: 2 3/4'', DAC: 1 1/2''. Comes with factory CA hard case, with owners manual & purchase certificate. Orvis Company began importing two versions of Chapuis shotguns for sale under the Orvis brand. This Classic model retails for $4,595. A beautiful example of a French made shotgun.
