J.C. Higgins (Sears), Model 60, CAL: 12 GA, MFG: Early 1950's, SN: None, Semi-Auto Shotgun, 2 3/4'' Chamber, Choke: Full, 26 1/4'' barrel, including the choke. Produced by High Standard & near copy of their Model C-1900. The original checkered & flat pistol grip wood stocks are fair & solid, despite a 1/4'' x 1 1/2'' chip missing from the right side of wrist & a 1 1/2'' stress crack on the left side of wrist. The belly of the stock has a 1'' x 3/4'' section missing where a sling provision was removed. There are a couple of edge chips at the buttend where the buttplate should be mounted. The cap on the pistol grip is missing. There are other minor scratches, contusions & scrapes to the original finish on the wood. The original metal blue finish rates 50% on the barrel, 20% on the receiver, thinning to a brown patina & with speckling. Bore is very good. Barrel fitted with a J.C. Higgins screw adjusting choke, with adjustments from 25 yds to 60 yds, CYL to Ex FULL. Some of the vent slats on the choke are missing, but shouldn't affect shot pattern.
