Harrington & Richardson Arms Co., Model: M1 Garand, Cal: .30-06, MFG: 1953, S/N: 4740639, Semi-auto rifle, 24 '' barrel. The semi-pistol grip walnut stock is very good with a few small nicks, dings, dents, scratches, & wear from use/age. The bottom of the wrist is marked with two Circle ''P'' firing proofs, one faded/worn, & one is clear & crisp. That indicates this rifle was rebuilt at a arsenal & fire proofed again. The left side of the stock under the rear sight is marked with the eagle defense acceptance stamp. The bottom of the pistol grip is marked with a ''8'' in white paint rack number. The parkerized metal finish rates 90% overall with light wear. Parts of the sling swivels, gas tube, & the trigger guard have very light surface rust speckling. The rear of the receiver is marked ''U.S. RIFLE'', ''CAL. .30 M1'', ''H&R ARMS CO.'', & the S/N. the top of the bolt is marked ''D28287-19SA'', ''A-9''. The last 4 digits of the S/N, ''0639'', have also been electric penciled into the top of the bolt. The right side o the barrel is marked with a upside down ''J'', ''P'', & a very faint ''S-A-7-42'' stamping. The bore is very good. Its bright with a couple spots of light roughness & one spot of light pitting. The barrel holds a blade front sight with protective wings. The rear of the receiver has a fully adjustable aperture rear sight. The stock carries a checkered steel trapdoor buttplate. Buttplate has wear & spots of light rust. Nothing inside the trapdoor. Stock has both sling swivels with the stacking loop. FFL or C&R Req. - Value: 1000 to 2000
