The rear of the receiver has a two position flip up aperture sight. The stock carries a steel checkered buttplate. The stock has one left sided sling loop & a sling well in the stock. Rifle comes with one 15 Rd. Magazine marked ''U''.

HISTORY: The Underwood Elliott Fisher Company made typewriters, adding machines, cash registers, & office equipment before WW2. But with the need for production of the brand new M1 Carbine & all other weapons Manufactures being tied up, the Government would have to look for other company's to produce them. For this the Government would create a advisory & oversight committee, & was commonly referred to at the carbine committee. They would contact company's to have them produce the new carbines & would oversee & supervise the production. Underwood would go on to produce around 545,000 carbines totaling about 8.9% of the total M1 carbine production. Underwood made more of their own parts than any other MFG company. They would also supply many barrels for other company's to use, they produced over 1.7 Million M1 carbine barrels. Underwood also Received the annual Army-Navy Production Award for high achievement in the production of war material for their .30 caliber Carbine Model M1, in 1942, 1943, and 1944. This carbine is in all original configuration for its time of MFG even though it clearly was sent back to arsenal to be rebuilt. This means it must have been done early on in the war. The AABG means this rifle was rebuilt at the Augusta Arsenal & the BG are the initials of the inspector. FFL or C&R Req. - Value: 1200 to 2500
