Description

Boxed, Harrington & Richardson, Model: U.S. 1873 Officers Model trapdoor, Cal: .45-70, MFG: 1970's, S/N: 1847, Trapdoor single shot rifle, 26'' barrel. The checkered straight wrist walnut stock is excellent. The bottom of the wrist has a crisp Circle ''P'' firing proof cartouche. The blued metal finish on the barrel rates 96% with very little wear/thinning. The case hardened receiver & breech block rate 95% with very little fading. The hammer, receiver, lock plate, rear tang, breech block, barrel band & trigger guard all have engraving. The left side of the barrel is marked ''U.S. MODEL 1873'', ''CAL. 45-70 GOV'T'', ''P''. The right side of the barrel is marked ''HARRINGTON & RICHARDSON, INC.'', ''WORCESTER, MASS. MADE IN U.S.A.''. The left side of the receiver is marked ''H&R'', the right side is marked with the S/N. the top of the breech block is marked ''U.S.'', ''MODEL'', ''1873''. The bore is excellent. The barrel holds a beaded blade front sight with a flip up rear tang sight. The stock carries a case hardened steel buttplate. Rifle has its cleaning rod. Rifle comes with original box.
