Description

Colt, Model 1877 ''Lightning'', CAL: .38, MFG: 1879, SN: 18216, Double Action Revolver, 2 1/2'' barrel. The top of the barrel has a standard two-line address stamp. The left side of the barrel has an etched ''COLT D.A. 38''. The left side of the frame has the two-line patent date stamp. The full SN can be found on the frame, trigger guard & butt. The original Rampant Colt checkered hard rubber grips are very good & solid. The checkering on the crease of the grips has worn smooth/flat & the Rampant Colt logo has some smoothed edges, but still prominent. The original nickel finish is excellent, with some areas of thinning & flaking, exposing the metal surface. There is one area of spotting on the left cylinder shoulder, toned to a brown patina. Bore is very good & bright, with a few spots of light pitting. Integral V-notch rear sight & blade front sight. Antique No FFL Req. - Value: 1500 to 2500
