Description

BOXED, Colt, Diamondback, CAL: 22LR, MFG: 1978/79, SN: R40797, Double Action Revolver, 6'' barrel. The Colt Diamondback was introduced as a deluxe model in 1966, inspired by the successful Colt Python, in calibers of .22 LR, .22 WMR & .38 SPL. The Diamondback is built on the smaller ''D frame'', same as used in the Detective Special. It has a 6-shot swing-out cylinder & was available in blue or nickel finishes. It has a wide serrated target hammer, ventilated rib, fully adjustable target quality sights, & full-length barrel underlug. The left side of barrel is stamped ''DIAMONDBACK .22 LONG RIFLE''. They came with Gold tone Colt medallions in the checkered Walnut grips. The grips on this example are excellent, with a small glue repaired edge chip on the top front side of the right grip. The high polish blued finish rates 99%. Bore is near mint. The satin finished top of the ventilated rib barrel holds a screw height adjusting ''U'' notch rear sight & front blade sight. Original hang tag still present on the trigger guard. Comes in the original SN matching Colt wood grain box, with related paperwork. Box has some edge, corner & shelf wear. A highly collectible Colt revolver. FFL Req. - Value: 1500 to 2000
