Description

SCARCE, Stocking & Co, 6- Shot Pepperbox, CAL: 28, MFG: 1840's, SN: 2, Single Action Percussion Revolver, 5 3/8'' barrel. The barrel cluster is marked ''STOCKING & CO WORCHESTER'', & ''WARRANTED CAST STEEL''. The SN ''2'' can be found on the frame under the grip & both grips are Sn to the gun. The frame & percussion cap shield display simple decorative engraving, that's worn thin. The wood grips with inlaid oval initial plates, are good, with a minor edge chip & numerous contusions, scrapes & dings. The metal finish has fully worn to metal gray, with spotting/speckling toned to a brown patina. There's a crack almost the full length of one of the barrels. Bores are fair, dark & rough. No sights. Nipple condition is fair. Barrel cluster spins freely to the left, cocking the hammer spins the barrel cluster & sets the trigger. Antique, No FFL Req. - Value: 400 to 800
