Description

Colt Black powder Arms Co., 1861 Navy, 3rd Gen - General Custer Special Edition, CAL: 36, MFG: Modern, SN: 45752, Percussion Single Shot Revolver, 7 1/2'' barrel. The top of the barrel is marked ''ADDRESS SAM L COLT NEW-YORK CITY''. The checkered & carved wood grips are excellent. The gloss black metal finish rates 99% overall. The hand engraved foliate scroll & punch dot accents are gold washed, with a few small areas fading back to the black finish. All matching SN on the frame, barrel, trigger guard & butt. All SN are hand engraved. Bore is excellent. Small blade front sight. Comes in a custom wood case, with Italian made powder flask & key.

History: Louis Imperato who owned Iver Johnson at the time, sold the Iver Johnson name & renamed the company that produced the 3rd Generation Series, the ''Colt Black powder Arms Company''. The Signature Series is considered to be the Third Generation, made by ''Colt Black powder Arms Company'' in Brooklyn, New York. Although it used the name ''Colt'' is was not a Colt owned company as mentioned above. Black powder, No FFL Req. - Value: 500 to 1000
