Description

DWM, Model: P.04 Navy Luger 1906 2nd Issue, Cal: 9x19mm, MFG: 1906, S/N: 498a, Semi-auto pistol, 6'' barrel. The checked Walnut grips are very good with light rubbing wear, small chips in both sides of grips, & darkening from oil/handling. The blued metal finish has been Re-blued at some point, metal has clear signs of pitting with blue inside, unknow if it was done at a arsenal or after its military life, the re-bluing job looks professional & was very skillfully done. All proofs & stamps are crisp & do not look buffed over. These pistols were part of the navy so they were in contact with salt water & salty air for most of their life leading to more rusting & pitting. The metal finish rates 95% overall with only light scratches. The left side of the barrel has a double crown over ''M'' stamp, & a navy barrel proof stamp. Bottom of barrel is stamped with a navy barrel proof mark & the S/N. front of the frame is marked with the S/N. all other serialized parts are matching to the S/N. the top of the toggle is marked ''DWM''. The bore is excellent. Its bright & mirror like with little to no wear. The barrel holds a barleycorn front sight. The rear of the pistol holds a two position V-notch rear sight. This pistol comes with a 8 Rd. wood base magazine that IS S/N MATCHED. A very nice example of a P.04 navy luger. FFL or C&R Req. - Value: 3000 to 9000
