Husqvarna Vapenfabrik (Swedish), Model: M1907 Civilian sale, Cal: .380 ACP, MFG: 1930's-40, S/N: 67117, Semi-auto pistol, 5'' barrel.
HISTORY: Sweden Adopted the FN made, Browning designed M1903 Pistol & ordered 10,000 in 1907, naming it the M/07 or M1907 pistol. During 1914 the FN plant in Belgium would be overran by German troops & no more pistols would be shipped to Sweden. Sweden in turn would obtain the license from FN to produce the M1907 pistol in 1914. Sweden would start tooling up for the production of the pistol at the Husqvarna factory & the first pistol would come off the factory line in 1917. these pistols were originally marked with either a ''Browning's Patent'' or ''System Browning'', but was taken off the guns after 1919, at the insistence, of FN because they were granted exclusive rights to use the browning name. these pistols were originally chambered in 9x20mmSR Browning long, but when they were imported the majority were re-chambered to .380 ACP by use of a chamber sleeve, & they were refinished in a gray Parkerizing by the importers. Modern day shooters have reported that the reliability of pistols rechambered in .380 differs from gun to gun, mainly on who imported the pistol & the quality of the chamber sleeve job. This pistol appears to be a civilian sold pistol based on not having any military markings.
CONDITION: The original black plastic grips are excellent with only a few minor scratches & dings. The refinished, parkerized metal rates 95% with wear from operation of the pistol. The left side of the slide is marked ''HUSQVARNA VAPENFABRIKS AKTIEBOLAG''. The left side of the frame is marked ''CAL380''. The right side of the frame is marked with the S/N. The rear of the frame is marked with a crown over ''GB'' which is the Inspectors Initials for Gustaf Bjrkenstam. The bore is very good. Its bright & mirror like with minor thinning to rifling. The slide holds a blade front sight with a U-notch rear sight. Pistol comes with one mag & a aftermarket leather holster. FFL or C&R Req - Value: 300 to 600
