Nagoya Arsenal Toriimatsu Branch, Model: Nambu type 14, Cal: 8x22 Nambu, MFG: 1945, S/N: 70385 Serial block 2, Semi-auto pistol. 4 5/8'' barrel. The smooth wood grips are excellent with little to no wear, the right grip is loose due to the retention screw not going in all the way. The blued metal finish retains complete coverage with only light thinning & wear on the sharp edges. As such the finish rates 90%. The whole trigger guard/trigger assembly is loose & wiggles up & down in the dovetail. The sheet metal finger rest on the front strap has been hammered flat. The left side of the frame is marked with the model designation in Japanese, which reads from right to left ''TYPE 14''. The safety markings are also in Japanese, the forward position is fire, & the rearward position is safe. The right side of the frame is marked with the Nagoya Arsenal logo, a Square in a circle stamp which is there serial series mark, & means ''ro'' which is the second letter in the traditional Japanese alphabet, & then the S/N. The lower part of the right side of the frame is marked, with the Japanese character ''sho'' to designate Emperor Hirohito's reign, the date code ''20.5'', & the Japanese letter ''na'' for Nagoya, which is the final inspection mark. The bore is poor. The bore is bright with roughness, but the final half inch of the rifling is missing chunks & is chipping away. Its likely from a mix of poor MFG standards/steel, using corrosive ammo & poor maintenance. from wear & not cleaning . The barrel holds a barleycorn front sight with a square notch rear sight. Pistol comes with one 8 Rd. aluminum base magazine. There was five manufacturers that produced Type 14s, three of the manufacturers used the Nagoya arsenal mark, & two that used the Tokyo/Kokura Arsenal mark. They all were assigned different serial blocks. The Toriimatsu Branch of the Nagoya arsenal was assigned the first & second serial blocks. FFL or C&R Req. - Value: 300 to 600
