Description

Webley & Scott, MK III Flare Gun, CAL: 27mm, MFG: early 1900's, SN: 40663, Single Shot Flare Gun, 4 1/4'' barrel. The left side of the frame is marked ''WEBLEY & SCOTT LTD LONDON & BIRMINGHAM''. Under the name stamp is a clear roman numeral ''III'', alongside a multitude of proof marks. The left side of the barrel also displays the same proof marks as on the frame. The right side of the frame is marked with the well-known flying bullet logo, over ''W&S''. The full SN can be seen to the right of the flying bullet logo. The original wood grips are good & solid. There are numerous contusions, scrapes & dings. The brass barrel, frame & trigger guard have an aged patina, with numerous scratches, scrapes & dings. There are three cracks in the trigger guard. The break lever & hammer have fully toned to a brown patina & are rough, with pitting throughout. Bore is good, with roughness & oxidization near the muzzle. No sights, lanyard loop present.
