PARTS GUN Ludwig Loewe & Co., Model: 1891 Argentine Mauser, Cal: 7.65x53mm Mauser, MFG: 1897, S/N: P8902, Bolt action rifle, 29'' barrel. The bolt & trigger guard screws are missing & the rifle is being sold AS IS WITH NO RETURNS ACCEPTED. The straight wrist wood stock is very good with some small nicks, dings, , scratches & wear from use/age. The right cheek of the stock is marked with a Argentine acceptance cartouche. The bottom of the wrist is marked with a ''AG'' in a crest cartouche. The S/N is marked into the right side of the stock, below where the barrel & receiver meet. The rear of the upper handguard is marked with a faint cartouche. The blued metal finish on the barrel rates 97% & retains a very deep, black in color blued finish. The blued metal finish on the receiver rates 65% with gun metal gray & patina where the crest was ground off by the Argentine government, per the agreement of importing them. The other areas of the receiver retain deep, strong bluing. The left side of the receiver is stamped with two proof marks, ''MAUSER MODELO ARGENTINO 1891'', ''MANUFACTURA LOEWE BERLIN''. The right side of the receiver & barrel are stamped with the S/N. the top of the barrel has one proof stamp. The bore is very good. Its bright with strong rifling but has roughness throughout. The barrel holds a barleycorn front sight with a flip up ladder, V-notch rear sight marked 4 to 20 on the ladder. The stock carries a blued steel buttplate, that has light blue thinning around the edges. The rifle has both bottom sling mounts. Rifle has it original cleaning rod.
