Description

US, M1892 Krag Bayonet, with a M1912 picket pin Scabbard. The blade has a few nicks/chips, & spots of patina. The guard & pommel have toned to a brown patina, the left grip has a large chunk missing. The left side of the blade is marked ''1902'', the right side of the blade is marked ''US''. The scabbard has wear, scuffs, & the leather is cracking in spots due to age, but is still in very good condition. The M1892 bayonet was based of the Swiss M1889 Bayonet, & production of the bayonet ran from 1894 to 1903. the M1912 picket pin scabbard was not designed for the Krag bayonet & was first made way after production of the Krag bayonet ceased. It was meant for the M1912 picket pin, which meant for the cavalry & was a multi-tool of sorts. It could be driven into the ground to tether the cavalryman's horse, also it has a claw hammer head & could be used to make emergency repairs to saddle, tack, or horseshoes. Grade: Good ++ - Value: 50 to 150
