French, Shortened M1886 Lebel Bayonet & sheath, the blade has a few small spots of patina, the guard has spotty rust, the brass handle has dings & dents. from 1886 to 1916, they had a Nickeled steel handle, a hooked Quillon, & the bayonet was just over 25'' long. From 1916 to 1935, they switched to a brass handle, & removed the quillon, many of the older bayonets had their quillons removed. The last era are from 1935 through WW2, where they shortened the bayonet to 18'' overall, by cutting down the blades, they also shorted the sheaths for the bayonets. Grade: Very Good ++ - Value: 50 to 150
