Turkish, Askari Fabrika, M1935 bayonet & sheath, Modified to fit M1 Garand & the Greek 6.5mm M1903 Mannlicher-Schoenauer rifle. The blade is bare metal with spots dark patina. The guard & pommel have toned to a dark, chocolate brown patina. The wood grips have small dings & wear. The left side of the pommel is marked ''202242'', the right side is marked ''ASFA''. The guard is loose. The sheath has finish wear, scratches & parts toning to a brown patina. Military Assistance program (MAP) records document that the U.S. provided 314,432 M1 rifles to Turkey between 1950 and 1972. MAP records do not show shipment of any bayonets to Turkey, which explains the need to produce indigenous bayonets for the M1. Grade: Very Good + - Value: 30 to 60
