Savage, Model 99, CAL: 308 WIN, MFG: 1957, SN: 938111, Lever Action Rifle, 22'' round barrel. The original checkered & capped pistol grip wood stocks are very good & solid, despite a 2 1/2'' crack emanating from the end of the upper tang & 1 1/2'' stress crack along the lower edge of the right side of the wrist, coming off the receiver. There are a few scrapes, scratches light ding to the wood, with one larger contusion within the left side forend checkering. The original metal blue finish rates 90% on the barrel, 85% on the receiver. The case-hardened lever has faded mostly gun metal gray. Bore is excellent. The receiver carries a Bushnell ScopeChief 4x scope on Buehler mounts, while the barrel holds a blank in the rear dovetail & ramp elevated blade front sight. Grooved metal buttplate. Jeweled Bolt.
