Savage, Model 99 C, CAL: 284 WIN, MFG: 1968, SN: 1175922, Lever Action Rifle, 22'' round barrel. The Savage 99 C was produced from 1965 to 1997, with most speculating that the ''C'' stood for clip. The original checkered & capped pistol grip wood stocks are very good & solid, despite a 1'' crack emanating from the receiver on the left side of the wrist. There are a few scrapes, scratches light ding to the wood. Nearly all the original lacquer finish has worn from the wood. The original metal blue finish rates 80% on the barrel, 60% on the receiver. The case-hardened lever has faded to smokey gray outlines of case-colors, with lots of vivid colors on the internals. Bore is very good, bright & clean. The receiver carries a Realist 1.5X45 scope on Weaver rings, while the barrel holds a folding leaf rear & ramp elevated blade front sights. Grooved metal buttplate. Jeweled Bolt. Detachable mag.
