Thompson Center Arms, Model Dimension, CAL: 300 WIN MAG, MFG: Modern, SN: JAB2262, Bolt Action Rifle, 21 1/2'' tapered barrel, with threaded tip. The new T/C Dimension is a radical bolt-action design that offers complete interchangeability among 10 different cartridges in four separate cartridge families initially running from .204 Ruger to .300 Winchester Magnum. To swap between cartridges within one family all you need is an additional barrel; the magazines & bolts are the same. To swap between cartridges in different families, you'll also need the correct bolt assembly, & a magazine housing & magazine for that family's cartridges. All barrels, bolts, & magazine groups work interchangeably with the standard Dimension receiver & stock assembly. All interchangeable parts, including barrels, bolts, magazine housings & magazines are boldly marked with the letter of their family to prevent accidental mixing of parts when switching between calibers or groups. The families go as follows:
A family = .204 Ruger, .223, B family = .22-250, .243, 7mm-08, .308 (most versatile group), C family = .270, .30-06, D family = 300 Win Mag, 7mm Rem Mag. This rifle is currently setup for the ''D'' family of calibers, but currently only comes with the 300 Win Mag barrel. The barrel & receiver themselves are held together by a threaded Torque Collar that allows barrels to be interchanged. The original flat pistol grip composite stock, with gray polymer ''traction panels'' & rubber exterior is very good. It has some minor usage wear & is a bit sticky in areas. The arched contour of the buttstock raises the shooter's head to a correct level for quick optics acquisition & reduces stock drop to allow better alignment of the shoulder with the gun's axis of recoil. The original metal finish rates 98%. Bore is excellent. The receiver holds a Leopold VX-R 3-9X50 Gold ring scope on a bridge receiver mount that also attaches to the barrel. No open sight provisions on the barrel. Stock carries a solid rubber TC recoil pad, two half-inch spacers for customizing length of pull. Has an adjustable trigger (3.5 to 5.5 pounds), adjustment tool is provided along with other tools & instructions. Detachable mag. Factory sling studs. A very unique & customizable all weather & an excellent quality hunting rifle. FFL Req. - Value: 600 to 900
