Remington, Model 8, .30 Rem Cal, MFG. 1933, SN: 66735, Semi-Auto Rifle, 22'' barrel. The left side of the barrel carries not only the manufacture date stampings, but a repair code from where the rifle was returned to the factory for unknown repair or upgrade. These repair stampings typically are a 3 or 4 digit code ending in ''3''. In this case, I believe the repair or upgrade was for blue restoration or at least it was a part of the process as the blue has been nicely restored to Remington standards & color, with a bit of thinning to some of the original stampings. The blue rates 98% overall & is excellent. The original straight grip & schnabel forend stocks are excellent, with both appearing to carry the original finish. There are minor scuffs, scratches & contusions to the wood & finish. Bore is excellent. The receiver is fitted with a Williams receiver/tang sight that fits into the factory tang screw hole, but also requires two additional holes to be added to the receiver for mounting & stability. The barrel is fitted with a folding two leaf rear sight on oval base & a Lyman half moon blade front sight, with ivory bead. Stock carries the popular bottom tang crescent metal buttplate. 5 round fixed magazine. Tight action. Sling loops. An overall excellent appearing rifle. FFL or C&R Req. - Value: 700 to 1000
