FANTASTIC CUSTOM ENGRAVED Winchester, Model 1890 3rd model, .22 WRF Cal., MFG. 1930, SN: 832252, Pump Action Rifle, 24'' Tapered Octagon barrel, The receiver & trigger guard are elaborately scroll engraved, with forest scenes depicting two squirrels on the left side of the receiver & three rabbits on the right side. There is also light scroll & border engraving on the upper tang of the buttplate. This engraving is as shown on pg. 125 of ''Winchester - An American Legend'' by R. L. Wilson as being Winchesters No. 8 style, ''Especially suitable for rifles having small frames, such as the Model 1890 & the Single Shot''. The straight grip walnut stock has deluxe fancy Winchesters ''H'' style hand checkering, with a satin lacquer finish. Checkering is crisp. The stock has fabulous grain & excellent finish, with virtually no handling marks. There are two 1'' tightly glued grain cracks at the left side of the buttend against the buttplate, that were part of the popped grain & likely stabilized before the stock was originally finished. The corncob forearm & finish are excellent. The factory metal blue finish on barrel is 90%, 80% on mag, with loss due to pump action. The gold-wash on the receiver & crescent buttplate is excellent. Bore is excellent. Factory front & rear sights. A truly wonderful & excellent condition deluxe model 90. FFL or C&R Req. - Value: 4000 to 8000
