Page-Lewis Arms Company (springfield), Model 50, Marked .22 LR., MFG. 1928, SN: None, Bolt Action Rifle. 24'' tapered round barrel. This gun was actually produced by Springfield after they took over the Page-Lewis plant. They initially kept the model D (RELIANCE) in production as is, but in 1928 they switched the name to the model 50 & the barrel roll stamp to ''Springfield Arms Company Chicopee Fall, Mass. U.S.A.'', ''Model 50'' & the ''Reliance'' roll stamp on the receiver portion was changed to ''Springfield JR''. A circle ''SVG'' cartouche was also placed on the left side of the stock. This rifle is a transition model as it retains the ''Paige-Lewis'' roll stamp on the barrel, but does have the model portion of that stamping changed to the ''Model 50'' & has the ''Springfield JR'' stamping on the receiver, as well as the circle ''SVG'' cartouche on the stock. The factory flat pistol grip wood stock is excellent, with several minor to small scuffs, scratches & contusions to the original finish. The original metal blue finish rates 90%, but with a bit of speckling developing. Bore is excellent. Barrel has an adjustable rear & blade front sights. Buttstock a smooth metal buttplate. The belly of the stock has a slight perch contour. FFL or C&R Req - Value: 200 to 400
