Wards Western Field, Model 48, CAL: 22 S/L/LR, MFG: 1938, SN: NONE, Bolt Action Rifle, 22 1/4'' barrel. Made for Wards by Mossberg as similar to their model 45B. Only 5972 produced. The original flat pistol grip wood stock is very good, with numerous minor contusions, surface scrapes & scratches to the original thinning finish. The metal blue finish rates 80% on the barrel, 60% on the receiver & 30% on the mag tube, with rust speckling. Bore is excellent. Adjustable rear & small blade front sights. Buttstock carries a smooth metal buttplate with lots of rust pitting. Sling swivels have some rust. FFL or C&R Req. - Value: 80 to 150
