Savage Arms Corp, Model Sporter (23A), CAL: .22 LR, MFG: 1923-33, SN: 93443, Bolt Action Rifle, 23'' round barrel. The original flat pistol grip wood stock, with schnabel forend is good & solid. The original finish has mostly worn away & need to be reoiled. The stock has numerous small to large contusions, scrapes & scratches. The metal blue finish has worn gray, with lots of brown spotting & some rust pitting. The barrel has what appears to be two bulges at 2'' & 7'' from muzzle & has a barrel liner that renders the bore very good & clean. The receiver carries two factory screws for possible sight or optic mounting. The barrel carries an adjustable rear sight missing the elevator & a front blade sight, with two open holes on the left side of the barrel under the rear sight that appear to be from a previous scope mounting. Buttstock carries an original Savage smooth metal buttplate. The original detachable mag is missing the original pull tab & has a brass soldered to the bottom to aid in mag removal.
