Roberts (Belgian) Goose Gun, CAL: 8 GA, MFG: 1893-97, S/N: 2010 (lower barrel rib), Break SxS Shotgun, 36'' laminated steel barrels. The checkered & horn capped pistol grip stocks are very good & solid, having been sanded & refinished. There is an inlaid cork star in the right side of the stock. There are smoothed contusions, dings, scrapes & the checkering has been worn/sanded smooth. There is a pearl/metal inlay in the forend. The twisted steel barrels have fully toned to a dark plum patina. The receiver & side plates have worn to metal gray & toned to a light brown patina. There is intermittent spotting toned to a darker brown. The receiver, lock plates, trigger guard, hammers & break levers all display intricate ornamental scroll engraving. Bores are good, with roughness & intermittent light pitting near the chamber. Lockup has a slight gap & play between the barrels/receiver. LOP: 15'', DAH: 3 1/8'', DAC: 1 3/4''. Twisted Steel barrels are not safe to shoot smokeless loads or steel shot out of. Antique No FFL Req. - Value: 1500 to 2500
