Winchester, Model 12 ''SKEET'', CAL: 28 GA, MFG: 1950, SN: 1352073, Pump Action Shotgun, Choke: Marked ''SKEET'', 2 7/8'' Chamber, 26'' Ventilated rib barrel. This gun presents as a very rare factory Model 12 .28 ga ''Skeet'' shotgun, however, it is simply a custom modified/built shotgun. The original checkered & capped pistol grip wood stocks are excellent, with some minor handling marks, scrapes or blemishes to the original finish. The finish has some areas of light haze & is thinning at the carry points & left cheek, with some thin flaking on the right cheek. The metal finish on the receiver appears original, but may be a very good vintage reblue & rates 90%. The metal blue finish on the barrel is a professional quality reblue, likely done at the time of the rib installation & rates 95%. The bluing on the receiver appears original, but could also have been done at the time of the barrel reblue & rates 90%. Most of the wear is to the forward belly of the receiver & the belly of the barrel collar in front of the receiver. Matching SN on the receiver & barrel. There is a single proof stamping on the barrel to the left side of the rib. There are no markings on the rib, but it has square posts which might help some identify the make. Bore is excellent. Bore diameter : .548, Bore restriction: .013. Rib carries a white mid bead & a red front bead. Trigger carries an oversized trigger shoe. Buttstock carries a Winchester plastic buttplate, with 13 7/8'' LOP. FFL or C&R Req. - Value: 1500 to 4000
