ENGRAVED Remington Model 11, ''E'' Grade, CAL: 12 GA, MFG: 1905-47, SN: 780850, Semi-Auto Shotgun, Choke: F, 30'' Ventilated matted rib barrel. Custom shop ''E'' grade or sometimes referred to as a No. 5 Expert Grade. The special order shotgun has high grade walnut wood stock & forearm, which are excellent, with very nice figure to the grain. Factory checkering is 22 lines-per-inch. The stocks carry the original factory finish, with minor handling scuffs, scratches & dings. The stock carries a cap on the pistol grip & an inlaid silver initial plate in the belly of the stock, typically found on Expert (''E'' grade) guns. The original metal blue finish rates 95% on the barrel, 90% on the receiver. The large receiver side panels are covered with what Remington marketed as ''rich scroll hand engraving & game scenes''. The left side of receiver is engraved with a large English Setter on the left & a Geman Shorthair on the right, both in hunting scenes. The base of trigger guard, tangs & first 5'' of barrel all display wonderful ornamental, scroll or floral engravings. The bore is excellent. The ventilated, matted rib holds a single front sight bead. Buttstock carries a ventilated HAWKINS red rubber recoil pad. LOP: 14 3/4'' overpad. A very nice example of an engraved custom shop shotgun. FFL or C&R Req. - Value: 2500 to 4000
