RARE Remington UMC, Model 11-48, Skeet ''C'' Grade, 28 GA., MFG. 1953 (ZZ Date Code), SN: 4015868, Semi-Auto Shotgun, MOD, 2 3/4'', 25'' Ventilated rib barrel. Factory custom shop ordered. Featuring fine checkered, capped pistol grip stock & beavertail forearm are excellent. Extra fancy American walnut with wonderful rippled & flame figure & coloring. There are several minor scuffs, scrapes & light scratches to the original finish. The finish does have crazing or spider webbing. There is a 1/4'' hairline crack to the left side of the forend. The original metal blue finish rates 90% on the barrel, 85% on the receiver, with full coverage, but loss due to thinning. The left side of the barrel is marked ''28 GA. FOR 2 3/4 OR SHORTER SHELLS''. The right side of the barrel is marked ''REMINGTON ARMS CO. INC. ILION, N.Y. MADE IN U.S.A. / PATENT NO. 2,278,589 OTHERS PENDING''. The left side of the barrel lug is marked ''4006558''. The left side of the receiver is marked ''Remington Model 11-48SC 4015856'', with the ''SC'' being hand stamped, which is correct. The top of the receiver & rib have a wavy pattern for glare reduction, with a mid silver bead & front white bead. Bore is excellent. The stock carries a Remington black plastic buttplate. This highly sought after 28 ga SKEET ''C'' grade is all original & Remington's deluxe grade, before engraving. Its an excellent example & very collectible. LOP 13 7/8''.
