Richardson Industries, R-5 Philippine Guerrilla Gun Shotgun, 12ga Cal., MFG: 1940's-65, SN: 1185, 24'' Barrel, Based on the design of Philippine homemade fighting shotguns. These guns were introduced to the market following World War II, but never caught on in mass quantities & are fairly rare as a result. The weapon is fired by removing the barrel, dropping a shell into the barrel, replace the barrel, pull the trigger back & then forcefully pulling the barrel back into the sleeve & slamming the shell against the firing pin. The barrel has a ribbed slot that catches a pin connected to the trigger that is used to hold the barrel within the sleeve when not in use. Pulling the trigger back frees the barrel to be removed. The original square bulky stock is excellent, with few blemishes. The stock is stamped on the belly of the forend with the SN & ''Patent Applied For''. It carries no buttplate as they were produced without them. It has no sights. The bore is excellent. The blued outer finish is excellent, with some speckled rust or spotting. A fairly crude weapon, but this example is in excellent original condition & is fairly collectible because of their rarity. FFL or C&R Req. - Value: 250 to 600
