Eddystone, Model: M1917 Enfield, Cal: .30-06, MFG: May 1918 Receiver, Jan 1918 Barrel, S/N: 578832, Bolt action rifle, 26'' barrel. The semi-pistol grip walnut stock is very good as being cut down & upper hand guard missing. Stock has light nicks, dings, scratches & wear from use/age. The bottom of the wrist is marked with a faded ''P'' in square firing proof, & faint remains of a older stamp. The left side of the wrist is marked with ''S.A.A.'' in box, ''S'' in box, cartouches. The parkerized metal finish rates 80% overall with scratches & spots of thinning/wear. Left side of the receiver is marked with the US Flaming bomb acceptance stamp. The receiver band is marked ''U.S.'', ''MODEL OF 1917'', ''EDDYSTONE'', & the S/N. the rear of the barrel is marked with a flaming bomb stamp & three eagle proof stamps. The front of the barrel is marked ''E'', Flaming bomb, 1-18. has a Remington marked bolt handle with Eddystone components, the rest of marked parts are mostly Eddystone with a Winchester rear sight ladder. The bore is very good. Its bright with light roughness. Five groove rifling. The barrel holds a square blade front sight with protective ears. Receiver mounted flip up ladder, aperture rear sight, ladder marked 2 to 16. the stock carries a parkerized steel trapdoor buttplate. Nothing inside trapdoor. Rear sling swivel removed, still has base mount. FFL or C&R Req. - Value: 200 to 500
