The right side of the forend, just ahead of the checkering, there is a worn, very faint marking that reads ''20.36'' & a Swiss crest cartouche. The barrel has spots of thinned finish, but is mostly toned to a brown patina. The receiver is bare metal with patina speckling. The left side of the receiver is marked ''V.SAUERBREY'', ''IN BASEL'', the S/N, ''GW'' ''KI''. The barrel is marked with a multitude of small proofs, the S/N, ''GW'', ''995''. Front barrel band marked ''36''. Many other parts marked with a small Swiss proof. Rifle is missing the magazine cut-off lever on left side of receiver. The bore is very good near excellent. Its bright & mirror like with a few spots of light roughness. The barrel holds a barleycorn front sight with a elevation adjustable V-notch rear sight marked 3 to 10. The stock carries a steel buttplate that's toned brown. Rifle has both sling loops but is missing the cleaning/clearing rod. Antique, no FFL Req - Value: 400 to 800
