Rifle Factory Ishapore, India, Model: No.1 Mk.3* rifle grenade launching rifle. Cal: .303 British, MFG: 1949, S/N: 38126K, bolt action rifle, 25 1/8'' barrel. The two-piece wood stock is very good, near excellent. It has small nicks, dings, & scratches, mainly on the forend. buttstock has been lightly sanded & refinished. The wire wrap & through bolt were added when the rifle was refurbished into a grenade launching rifle. This was done to strengthen the stock from the added force of launching the heavy grenades. The right cheek of the buttstock is marked with a slightly faded ''TDE'' over an arrow, over ''(W)'', roundel cartouche. This is a Indian stores or depot marking from the 1960s. buttstock has an arsenal toe & heel repair. the blued metal finish rates 85% overall with wear & scratches. The right side of the wrist band is marked with a crown over ''G.R.I.'', ''1949'', ''No.1MK.3*''. the left side of the receiver band is marked with a small crown proof. The right side of the receiver is marked with importer stampings & the S/N. S/N matching bolt. The bore is very good. Its bright with spots of light roughness. The barrel holds a square post front sight with protective ears, & a tangent U-notch rear sight marked 2 to 20. The stock carries a brass trapdoor buttplate. Rope pull through inside trapdoor. Rifle has both ling loops. Comes with period correct canvas sling, the 2 grenade launching cup, & a Dummy Mills No.36 MK.1 rifle grenade. FFL or C&R Req. - Value: 400 to 1000
