Tula, M91/30 Mosin Finnish capture, Cal: 7.62x54mmR, MFG: 1938, S/N: LG 118, Bolt action Rifle, 29'' barrel. The straight wrist wood stock is very good as being lightly sanded. Stock has minor nicks, dings, & scratches. The stock has been repaired in the classic Finnish style with two pieces of wood are finger spliced & glued together by the rear sight. Pre-1944 round finger Splice. This made the stock stronger by adding a slight flex point at the joint, less susceptible to warping in the cold, & made better use of their wood supply. This stock was repaired with the back end being the original Russian stock & the forward end being replaced. The right cheek of the stock has a faded arrow in star Tula arsenal acceptance stamp with the date ''1938'' under, & another faded circle cartouche. The bottom of the wrist has another faded circle cartouche. The blued metal finish rates 60% on the receiver & 75% on the barrel. There is scratches, thinning & brown patina. The left side of the receiver is marked with the S/N. The top of the barrel is marked with many small proofs, the Tula arrow in star stamp, ''`1938'', ''NO'', ''nr118'', & the ''SA'' in box Finnish army property mark. The right end of the barrel is marked with import stamps.. S/N mismatched bolt (50622) & is a mix of Tula & Izhevsk parts. The bore is very good. Its bright, has strong rifling but has a few spots of roughness. The barrel holds a post front sight with protective globe, & a tangent U-notch rear sight marked 1 to 20. the stock carries a blued steel buttplate, has finish wear around edges. Rifle has no cleaning rod. Rifle comes with correct socket bayonet S/N (7898). This rifle is a perfect example of the struggles the Finnish were going through during the war with the lengths they went to overcome them. FFL or C&R Req. - Value: 400 to 800
