WaffenWekrke Brunn (dou code) (Czechoslovakia), Model Karabiner 98K (K98K), 7.92x57mm (8mm Mauser), MFG: 1944, S/N: 916, Bolt action rifle, 24'' barrel. The semi-pistol grip laminated wood stock is very good near excellent, with only a few minor nicks & dings from handling, has one bigger scratch on belly of stock. The belly of the stock is marked with the S/N. Early style flat buttplate stock, replacement from a arsenal during refitting & refurbishment. The metal was buffed re-blued during refurbishment & rates 95% overall with minor wear. The left side of the receiver is marked with the S/N, ''Mod.98''. The top of the receiver band is marked with a buffed Waffenamt proof, ''dou.'', ''44''. The left side of the barrel is marked with a iron eagle proof, the S/N & Serial block letters ''bb''. The left side of the rear sight base is marked with ''CAI'' import stampings. The bolt & bolt components, barrel bands, trigger guard/floorplate, stock & buttplate are all S/N marked, the floor plate is forced matched with a old crossed out S/N & ''byf'' Mauser code, floorplate also has two Waffenamt proofs. Rear sight S/N marked ''7861''. Barrel bands & floorplate are correct later stamped versions. The bore is very good. Its bright with minor roughness throughout. The barrel holds a barleycorn front sight with a VZ 24 front sight protector, & a tangent V-notch rear sight marked 1 to 20. the stock carries a blued steel buttplate, has finish wear & thinning on top & bottom edges. Rifle has a cleaning rod. K98k side sling mount. Firing pin disassembly disc in stock. A very nice example of a arsenal refurbished, Czech made K98k. FFL or C&R Req. - Value: 800 to 1600
