Tokyo Arsneal, Type 38, Cal: 6.5x50mmR, MFG: 1906-20's, S/N: 1205259, Bolt action rifle, 25'' barrel. The semi-pistol grip Japanese walnut stock is very good as being cut down, lightly sanded & oiled. The belly of the stock is marked with three Japanese character cartouches. The blued metal finish rates 85% overall with spots of thinning & rust speckling. The left side of the receiver is marked with the S/N, Tokyo Arsenal logo, & two small inspector stamps. The top of the receiver band is marked with a fully intact chrysanthemum, & ''TYPE 38'' in Japanese characters. The rear receiver bridge is marked with a small triangle in circle stamp & a small circle stamp. The left side of the barrel is marked with a small triangle in circle stamp, & ''S''. The bolt handle has grind & weld marks & has been bent down crudely. The bolt handle hits the stock before fully locking into battery & will not fire, the stock either needs shaved, or bolt handle needs fixed. The bore is very good. Its bright with strong rifling, but has light roughness. The barrel holds a barleycorn front sight with a flip up ladder V-notch rear sight marked 6 to 24. the stock carries a blued steel buttplate, has spots of rust. Rifle has rear sling swivel.
