Smith & Wesson, Model Number Two Old Model (No.2 Old Army), CAL: 32 RF LONG, MFG: 1861-74, SN: 13096, Single Action Revolver, 6'' barrel. The top of the barrel is marked ''SMITH & WESSON SPRINGFIELD MASS''. The cylinder is stamped with multiple patent dates, (APRIL 3,1855 JULY 5 1859 DEC 18 1860'' which are fading but still legible. The full SN can be found on the butt. The original wood grips are excellent. There are minor scrapes & dings to the original finish. The grips have smoothed, with protective oils added over time. The full matching SN can be found stamped on the inside of the right grip panel. The metal surfaces have fully worn to metal gray & appear to have been cleaned at one point in time. There is some light spotting toned to a brown patina & a few areas with light pitting. Bore is good, with roughness & intermittent pitting. Small blade front sight & small notch rear sight. These No. 2 Old Army's were used as a sidearm during the Civil War, although never adopted by the Army. Approximately 77,155 were manufactured. Advanced collectors recognize as many as nine different types of this model. Antique, No FFL Req. - Value: 300 to 500
