Colt, 1860 Army - U.S Military, CAL: .44, MFG: early 1862, SN: 29138, Single Action Percussion Revolver, 8'' round barrel. Martially marked. The original wood grips are very good, having been lightly sanded, with protective oils/finish added over time. The inspector cartouches on the grips are barely visible, but you can make out the outline of the initial box. The backstrap./butt is cut for a stock. The metal surfaces have fully worn to metal gray, with areas toned to a brown patina. The brass trigger guard is bright, having been cleaned. Bore is good, with intermittent pitting. Small blade front sight. The top of the barrel is marked ''ADDRESS SAM L COLT NEW- YORK U.S. AMERICA''. The left side of the frame is marked ''COLT'S PATENT''. The Texas Naval scene on the cylinder has worn smooth, but the patent markings, serial number & inspector mark are still visible. There are multiple inspector marks on the revolver, such as: ''T'' on the top of the backstrap, ''S'' on the trigger guard, behind the trigger loop, ''C'' on either side of the barrel, on the cylinder, between two nipples & ''B'' above the serial number on the cylinder. All matching SN on the frame, trigger guard, barrel, butt, cylinder & wedge. Antique, No FFL Req. - Value: 1000 to 2000
